In February Mr. Torvik
posted about a lawsuit alleging that Westlaw and Lexis violate copyright laws by publishing briefs without permission. The Wall Street Journal Law Blog has a
post discussing how the judge hearing the case has dismissed a large part of the case. Lawyers who did not register their briefs with the copyright office--that is, virtually every lawyer on the planet--cannot be part of the lawsuit.
