The New York Times has
the answer. The article notes that lawyers and justices seem unwilling to use the word even when the case hinges on its use. I find that odd. What about you Mr. Torvik? Any fear of using profanity in court if the profanity is part of the case?
I have no abstract fear of using the word in court. I have certainly witnessed others using it when testifying to out-of-court statements. But I would probably be very reluctant to use the word in front of the Supreme Court, given how hidebound they are.
