"I mind my own business and I don't eat junk food."

The quote in the title to the blog is probably the opposite of what I do.  Maybe the fact that this blog exists demonstrates that the first part of the quote does not apply to me.

In any event, the quote is the explanation given by Bessie Berry Cooper, the world's oldest living person, as the explanation for her longevity.  According to the Guinness Book of World's Records, Ms. Cooper turned 116 yesterday.  Ms. Cooper has lived in Monroe, Georgia since 1917 and a bridge in the Monroe area was named after her on Friday.  MonroePatch.com's story on the bridge naming is hereSlate.com reports that Ms. Cooper is only the eighth person to reach the age of 116.

Congratulations to Ms. Cooper and it will be interesting to see if she can beat Jean Calment's record for verified oldest living person ever.  Ms. Cooper's practice of minding her own business has probably saved her from the serial killer that we talked about here.
