The Minneapolis Star Tribune has a story about President Obama vowing to take action regarding the IRS and protecting diplomats. This picture accompanies the story and was taken by Charles Dharapak for the AP.
I don't want to stir up more trouble for the President that he already has. I also don't want to provide him a justification for his inexplicable failure to name us to the Federal bench. But the first thing I thought when I saw the picture was, why do they use a member of the United States Marine Corps to hold an umbrella over the President? I'm reasonably confident that the President himself doesn't decide who holds an umbrella for him. I wonder how it was determined that umbrellas should be held by members of Marines?
I was struck by that photo as well.
ReplyDeleteAlso, isn't that some kind of Muslim flag framing him on both sides?
I believe it is the Turkish flag.
