Struggling Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liraino throws a no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox on the same day I make my first post of the baseball season. Could there be a connection?
I have a confession. On the night of this game, our DVR was recording the Twins game and something else, and we wanted to change the channel so that we could use the TV to babysit Ivy for a few minutes. Thus, we had to choose to cancel one of the recordings. I chose to cancel the Twins recording. I thought to myself, "If feel myself drifting away from the Twins. This long distance relationship probably just won't last. Gee, think how nice it will be to spend a summer not worrying about baseball every night."
Of course, that would be the night that the Twins make history. So I have no doubt that higher powers -- or maybe lower powers -- are at work here.
