However, someone at the White House applied some sort of formula and figured out that Justice Stevens, Mr. Dylan, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former Israeli President Shimon Peres, author Toni Morrison, civil rights campaigner and National Farm Workers Association co-founder Dolores Huerta, civil rights lawyer John Doar, epidemiologist Dr. William Foege (a native of Iowa--just saying), former University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, Gordon Hirabayashi, a Japanese-American who fought his internment in the United States during World War II, Jan Karski, a World War II Polish resistance fighter; Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low, and astronaut John Glenn were a good group to put together to receive the award. Maybe they were all names that came up during an eclectic match of "Celebrity."

Justice Stevens = Bob Dylan (or vice versa)?
Is it just me or does it seem strange to you that Bob Dylan and John Paul Stevens won the same award this week. While both are widely respected in their field of endeavor, I cannot say I ever thought of them in the same sentence before.
